I was born in St.Helens, Lancashire, England in 1933.  I started to research my own family history in 1966 and soon traced it to a Richard Hitchcock living in Warrington and raising a family in the 1780s and 1790s.  At that time Warrington was also a town in Lancashire though now transferred to the county of Cheshire,  There was also a Peter Hitchcock living in Warrington and raising a family at the same time.  While there is still no definite link between Richard and Peter it does seem most likely that they were closely related, probably brothers, and with the assistance of Joseph Hedgecock and his daughter, Corinne, from Liverpool, Paul Hedgecock in Pennsylvania, Mary Grimwood in California, Lyn Bradley in Adelaide, South Australia, all descendants of Peter Hitchcock and Allan Entwistle, whose ancestors were related to the Hedgecocks by marriage, the families of Richard and Peter have been extensively researched.
